Background
Henri Cousineau & Fils Inc. has specialized in groundwater management for four generations. The company is among the major Quebec players in the field of artesian wells, geothermal energy, drilling and water pumps.
Over the years, the company's expertise and the quality of its workforce have enabled it to develop its know-how and reputation by always moving forward and innovating to offer a quality product combined with exceptional customer service. The company is always ready to meet your needs with a comprehensive and diverse range
of services.
The 1930s marked the beginning of this family adventure. Grandfather Henri Cousineau started it all by drilling wells by hand for neighbours and farmers in the region. During the 1950s, his son Claude Cousineau demonstrated his keen interest in drilling by building a miniature drill with his father's tools. Drilling is definitely his favorite pastime – and his passion for it comes shining through as he drills his very first artesian well at just 14 years of age.
As time goes by, the company experiences increased growth. The 1970s see the blending of two technologies: percussion drilling and rotary drilling. Henri Cousineau & Fils buys its first rotary drill and establishes a fleet of seven drilling teams over the course of this decade. It even expands into South America during this
flourishing period.
The 1980s witness the arrival of the third generation: Claude's daughters, followed by the boys in the family, join the existing team to help manage the company. Over the years, they share their knowledge and support their father in this great adventure. Today, the fourth generation is already lending a hand as Claude's granddaughters have joined the team on a part-time basis while continuing their studies. This is concrete proof that this family-run business is still alive and well!
Here is an overview of our technological growth over the years:
